The Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) has stated that, in the event of a heat warning from Environment Canada, it is not mandatory to wear a quality mask outdoors even if physical distance cannot be respected.
This is a temporary measure, however, as soon as temperatures return to normal — below 30 degrees Celsius — Quebecers will be required to put their masks on outdoors when they are unable to respect the one-metre distance rule.
