General update:
Québec reported 436 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the total number of people infected to 382,755 with 3,117 active cases. That number is comparable to where things were at the beginning of June.
There was one new death recorded, but the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic was increased by 35, to 11,278, due to the addition of deaths that took place before March 21 of this year in the Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec region. The number of hospitalizations did not change from the previous day, when it reached 88, but the number of people in intensive care increased by one, to 28.
In the Eastern Townships the number of active cases increased to 199, of which 98 were from Sherbrooke and 69 of which were from the Haute-Yamaska.
Vaccination rates across the province have reached 85.7 per cent for a first dose among people over the age of 12, and 76.1 per cent for adequate vaccination.
