After sitting on the edge of their seats for much of the winter break, Bishop’s University gave students the green light to start in-person classes on Jan. 17.
Much to the surprise of students, professors were given full discretion on whether they would extend their online option a few more weeks. While certain professors chose to continue their lectures online, most have made the decision to return to an in-person learning environment. When informed about the school’s decision, students at Bishop’s University were cautiously
optimistic about returning to in-person classes in the new year.
Keven Poulin, a first-year student in the accounting program, is happy to be back in the classroom.
“One of the classes that I’m taking is organizational behavior, a human resources-oriented class, which will focus on both teamwork as well as simulate “life” issues within its course,” he explained. “It’s hard to have classes about people without the people,” Poulin said.
Poulin’s opinion echoed that of other students struggling to learn people-oriented and technical course materials through their computer screens rather than in the appropriate environment.
