The CIUSS de l’Estrie – CHUS has announced the appointment of Isabelle Samson to the position of Director of Public Health (DSPub). She will take up her new position immediately, for a four-year term, replacing Alain Poirier.
In recent years, Dr. Samson has been a consultant in promotion-prevention and protection at the North Shore Public Health Department and a clinical professor at the University of Sherbrooke. She also held a position as a consultant in protection (environmental health and emergency measures) and prevention (health-promoting environments, health impact assessment of projects, support to the municipal sector, tobacco, cannabis) at the Direction de santé publique de l’Estrie from July 2012 to May 2020.
Dr. Samson also holds a Master’s degree in health administration and a medical specialization in community health from the Université de Montréal.
