Piaget Ntakarutimana’s sixth goal of the playoffs, 5:22 into overtime, gave the Desjardins-Windsor Wild a 3-2 win over the Warwick Cougars on Friday, giving the team a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven Regional Hockey League finals.
Ntakarutimana completed a play begun by Félix Meunier and Christophe Lebel-Duplessis to score the winning goal.
Mykaël Létourneau scored the first point for Windsor a at 6:19 in the first period, but Warwick’s Gabriel Guillemette sent both teams to their locker rooms with a 1-1 tie with his seventh goal of the playoffs.
