Spring will start in a wonderful way with the presentation of acclaimed cellist Elinor Frey in a concert on Sunday, April 24 at 3 p.m. in the charming church Neverwas in Stanstead. Alone on stage with five instruments, Elinor invites the public to discover the distinct personality and colours of the instruments while relating the story of each. Entitled Tous les matins d’Elinor, the concert refers to the movie and features some of the most beautiful chaconnes of Dall’Abaco, Bach, Colombi, Supriani, Ortiz, Telemann and Dallapiccola. There is also an excerpt of Les Pleurs by composer Sainte-Colombe, subject of the movie.
Elinor Frey is a leading Canadian-American cellist, gambist, and researcher who specializes in early music and new music.
