After winning the Quebec U18 AAA Hockey League playoff championship Friday night in Levis, comes the TELUS Cup to determine the champion team in Canada.
And the Magog Cantonniers are in the running.
Originally scheduled to take place in Cape Breton, this competition was transferred to Okotoks, Alberta, a few weeks ago by Hockey Canada officials.
The cost for the team to travel to Okotoks, located about 50 km from Calgary, to take part in this national championship will be substantial.
This is why the Magog Cantonniers organization is asking hockey fans from all over the region and Quebec to help cover the costs of the trip.
The goal is to raise $10,000 and donations can be made by searching ‘Cantonniers de Magog à Calgary’ on the GoFundMe platform.
Another fundraising event is also in the works and is being organized by the family of a hockey staff member. More details will be available in the coming days.
