There were 1,008 people in hospitals across Quebec with COVID-19 as of Wednesday’s update from the ministry of health and social services, a decrease of eight from the data reported on Tuesday. Meanwhile the number of people in intensive care across the province increased by one, to 22. As has been the case in recent days, roughly 33 per cent of the overall number and 48 per cent of those in intensive care were people admitted because of their Covid diagnosis.
Quebec recorded 18 new Covid-related deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 15,514.
