Although it was a disappointing regular season for the Sherbrooke Expos, finishing last in the Louisville Slugger division in the Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Québec (LBMQ) with 12 wins and 18 losses, team manager Bruno Laurin believes they have what it takes for a deep playoff run.
“The problem this year is that, especially early in the year, a lot of my key players were unable to make it to some games. I mean on a few occasions we would play games without two or three of our best elements, which was often the difference between a win or loss,” he said.
The Expos will face the Saint-Jérôme Cardinals in a best-of-three quarter-final matchup starting with game one at Parc Melançon on Thursday evening.
