The Walk for Alzheimer's will be held Sunday, May 27, in Sherbrooke, along with more than 100 Alzheimer Society walks across Canada. This year, the event is gaining momentum with a major ceremony that will highlight well-known Quebec performer Gregory Charles. The ceremony will allow those affected by the disease to come together, and enjoy a moment of respite. Beginning at 1 p.m. participants will be greeted with music by the members of the Florilège choir at Sherbrooke’s Basilica-Cathedral Saint-Michel. At 1:30 p.m. a special ceremony will be held in honor of people with Alzheimer's disease or in memory of a deceased loved one. During the ceremony, participants will hear Charles’ testimony. Both the musician’s parents had Alzheimer's disease. See full story in the Friday, May 25th edition of The Record.
