Wintery weather was no match for the enthusiasm of the Richmond community for celebrating Saint Patrick’s day on Sunday afternoon. Young and old, bundled up warmly then dressed in their most distinctive greens, spectators turned out by the hundreds to enjoy the annual parade, some parking their cars along the route more than an hour in advance. Thousands turned out anyway on Sunday, in spite of 07 Celsius with a brisk breeze from the north. Bundled up didn’t deter many spectators from donning a bit of green and crowds were enthusiastic as one of the longest parades ever passed cheering folks and exuberant youngsters who didn’t seem to mind the cold at all.
