With the Eastern Townships maintaining orange zone status, Champlain College Lennoxville has managed to bring its student-athletes back out of hibernation, at least for a few weeks before the May exam period.
Members of the Champlain Cougars football team were outside, stretching and preparing for an hour-long training session at Coulter Field, last Wednesday. They started practicing again in person when the snow melted away in April.
“You can see the smiles on their faces, it’s contagious,” said Cougars head coach Jean-François Joncas. “For them it’s an hour of normality.”
