The latest update from the CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS suggests the situation in local emergency rooms is beginning to stabilize. For the first time in over a month, Brome-Missisquoi-Perkins and the Sherbrooke Hôtel-Dieu emergency rooms dropped briefly below 100 per cent capacity yesterday. Since mid-February, extraordinary measures have been in place at BMP, Granby, Fleurimont, and Hôtel-Dieu to relieve pressure on the system and deal with the spike in emergency room visits, often due to the winter flu season.
