An issue with the computer system of the CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS led to a temporary communication breakdown between the systems in all of its hospitals and centres yesterday. According to spokesperson Annie-André Émond, the glitch occurred between 11 a.m. and around 2:30 p.m. Stressing that the security of the patients was not at risk, Émond explained that the problem was related mainly to communication between different systems. For example, she said it was possible to take and read an X-Ray, but it could not be sent via the hospital’s internal system for consultation by a specialist.
