Throughout the month of April, thirteen pharmacies participated in a collection of female hygiene products for women who are homeless in Sherbrooke. Nearly 300 packets of sanitary napkins and tampons were collected. The initiative, launched by the Women's homelessness Committee of ConcertAction Femmes Estrie, aimed first of all to collect feminine hygiene products to compensate for the lack of resources of several organizations and, secondly, to raise awareness among the public of the living conditions endured by homeless women and perhaps change their perception of the homeless. The donations received were redistributed to: • Partage St-François, an emergency shelter and reintegration home for women in difficulty • The Sherbrooke Coalition for Street Work • Séjour la Bonne œuvre shelter for women in difficulty • La Chaudronnée de l'Estrie, soup kitchen • The Autre-Toit Cooperative, housing cooperative.
