They were there to support the families living in close proximity to the proposed cell tower and to try to have the opportunity to speak with the East Bolton council because all they want for their community is safe technology, a healthy environment, beautiful landscapes with no cell towers. They wanted the council on board with them to say “no” to Bell.
That was the message within the three-hour gathering under the crystal-clear sky and plummeting temperatures on Monday afternoon of November 23 where a crowd of more than 75 individuals of all generations, full-time and part-time residents, a First Nations spiritual healer who had been paralyzed by electromagnetic waves for a period of a year, and neighbouring objectors stood, paced, chanted and made a lot of noise to demonstrate their support to the five families living near Bell’s planned cell tower on Route 243 in Bolton Pass.
