By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – Police officers of the Surêté du Québec are inviting all citizens to come meet with them as part of the “Café avec un policier” event on Tuesday, May 14. Officers and residents of every municipality will gather during an informal session in a neutral space which promotes dialogue, where they will have the opportunity to discuss over a cup of coffee. This activity aims to offer citizens and police officers the opportunity to exchange on a variety of topics that affect members of the community. It is an occasion to reinforce relations between police officers and their community, which are often forced to meet in urgent situations that trigger many emotions. Attendees of “Café avec un policier” will be able to learn more about the police officers in their municipality and will be able to voice their concerns.
