Every year since 1995, the Wales Home Ladies Auxiliary has relied on the generosity of others to make sure that every resident has everything they could want or need. Of all the group’s different fundraisers, the largest is the silent auction. This year’s auction is currently underway, and will end this Saturday, May 26. “You really have to go see. There are so many interesting things up for grabs,” exclaimed Joyce Cinnamon, President of the Ladies Auxiliary, explaining that the bidding has been going on for at least two weeks on items ranging from two wicker furniture sets, a pool table, dishes, and various handicrafts to a painting that uses a sled as a canvas. All the items being auctioned are on display at the home itself. Along with all the goodies to be auctioned off, the fundraiser features a bazaar table, a food table filled with the ladies’ delicious homemade treats, and offers a $3 afternoon snack of tea, fruit salad, and marble cake.
