By Matthew McCully – For the past few weeks experienced curlers and newbies have been getting together on Sunday afternoons at the Border Curling Club in Stanstead for some ‘friendly curling,’ according to club member and house committee chair Al Smith. “It’s a new event, we’re just trying to get people interested in curling,” Smith explained. The idea evolved from an informal ‘donut league’ that has been going on for the past few years on Mondays and Thursdays. According to Smith, whoever showed up would split into teams. They would then play four ends, stop for coffee and donuts, “and catch up on all the gossip,” Smith said, and then play four more ends. See full story in the Tuesday, March 5 edition of The Record.
