With university sports set to return in the fall, members of the Bishop’s University Gaiters football team have made their way back to campus for preseason workouts in preparation for their first competitive game in nearly two years.
“We’ve got our veterans, our returning players, a big majority are in town, we’ve got a few stragglers coming in either by the end of this week or early next week and our freshmen are official reporting Aug. 27,” said Gaiters head coach Nicolas Chérif.
Bishop’s will kick off their season on Sept. 25 at Coulter Field in Lennoxville against Mount Allison University. The Gaiters, who play in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference, will play in a revised six-game regular season. The top four teams qualify for the post-season.
