The Bishop’s University Gaiters women’s hockey team will finally make its debut in U SPORTS and the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) University Women’s Hockey Conference on Friday in an away match against the Carleton Ravens.
It has been nearly two years since Bishop’s announced that it will ice a women’s hockey team representing the university at the highest level. And it has been a long time coming for Gaiters captain Jessica Bélanger, who is in her fifth and final year at the university.

Bélanger has been with the team for several years, including their days in the Independent Women’s Club Hockey League and the two seasons they played in Division 2 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. And she has noticed a significant jump in talent this year.
