The CIUSSS de l’Estrie- CHUS, the regional healthcare authority for the Eastern Townships, announced the launch of nine new Facebook groups on Wednesday. The groups, which are divided up according to the none local service areas within the local network, are meant to serve as an additional means of communication between the local healthcare system and the general population.
The groups for Coaticook, Granit, Haute-Yamaska, Haut-Saint-François, Memphrémagog, Pommeraie, Sherbrooke, des Sources, and Val Saint-Françoiscan be found via the CIUSSS de l’Estrie- CHUS’ existing Facebook page. Although the healthcare authority will continue to share information to that main page, the aim of the new groups is to help target information specific to particular areas such as unexpected closure of a facility; public safety notices such as boil water advisories, risk of flooding, etc.; change in service schedules (cafeteria, CLSC, etc.); mobile vaccination announcements; offers of employment or volunteer opportunities; activities of local foundations; services or activities of official partners, or other similar news.
