This summer the Bishop’s University Sports and Recreation Department will host its first hockey school during the week of August 6-10. The Gaiters Hockey School (GHS) will be held at the Jane & Eric Molson Arena located within the John H. Price Sports Centre and will be directed by Mr. Judes Vallée, current Head Coach of the Aigles Bleus de l’Université de Moncton. Assisted by Jesse Goodsell, Éric Roy and a squad qualified of team leaders, Mr. Vallée will teach young hockey players the secrets of their favourite game. Athletes’ physical preparedness will be ensured by Michaël Fullum and his team of trainers from the Fonctions Optimum Fitness Centre at Bishop’s University. The School will welcome two age groups; Novice (born 2010/2011), and Atom (born 2008/2009). Each group will accept a maximum of 28 skaters including forwards, defensemen and goaltenders. Practical and theoretical learning will occur in a bilingual setting that will enable participants to enjoy a totally unique experience in Sherbrooke.
