When the health care system in the Townships began feeling the effects of the 2015 major administrative restructuring of what is now the CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS, the Magog vigilance committee was formed. Its goal was to keep an eye on the system and make sure the quality of care was maintained. “It seems to be on pretty thin ground these days,” said Andrea Fairchild, a member representing Anglophones. The committee includes members of the Magog municipal council as well as citizens, doctors and representatives from different branches of the health sector in Magog. “Doctors locally are complaining,” Fairchild said, explaining that with administration centralized, there is no way of making decisions on the ground level. “The chain of command is not there.” See full story in the Wednesday, May 23rd edition of The Record.
