The province of Quebec has announced that as of Saturday, June 18, it will no longer be necessary to wear a mask on public transit. That date falls just over one month after the point when the province lifted mask requirements in most other public spaces.
“This is an important step, which confirms the significant improvement in the epidemiological situation over the past few weeks. The decision to wear the mask, both in public places and on public transport, will remain a personal choice,” said Health Minister Christian Dubé in a press release accompanying the announcement.
