Golfer Ryan Massicotte and women’s soccer player Jessalynn Hill have been named the Provigo, Robert Lafond Bishop’s University Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sept. 3, 2023.
Massicotte led the Gaiters to their first tournament victory in the modern era. He fired rounds of 71-70-72 for a six-under total and a solo second place finish on the individual side in the first RSEQ tournament of the year at the Milby Golf Club.
Massicotte, a fourth-year business student from Quebec City, Que. will lead his Gaiters back in action next weekend when they are at Club de Golf La Faune on Sept. 10 and 11.
Hill led the Gaiters women’s soccer team in a pair of contests during the week. She played a full 90-minutes in both contest and scored the lone goal in the Gaiters 1-0 victory over UQAM in Montreal on Friday night. She was also named game MVP.
Hill (Brantford, Ont.), in her third year of eligibility and fourth year as a biology student returns the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 3:30 p.m. in Montreal against McGill.
