In the absence of an agreement in the coming days, several regional childcare centres will go on strike on April 18 and 19. Coaticook’s Entre-amis and l’'Enfantillage alone provide child care for just under 150 children who will be affected by the walk-out. In Sherbrooke, eight centres will be affected. The president of the union representing the workers, Stéphanie Vachon, believes that the bargaining sessions must conclude with an agreement in principle with a strike hanging over their heads and says that her members deserve the same treatment as those in other CPEs that have already reached such agreements.
