Even before the opening of the Sherbrooke Phoenix’s training camp to start the 2018-2019 QMJHL season in a few days, one member of the Sherbrooke hockey team will already be sporting championship hardware to jumpstart the upcoming campaign. This past Saturday night in Edmonton Samuel Poulin could be found with 21 of his fellow countrymen donning their fresh gold medals and hoisting the newly minted Hlinka Gretzky Cup at centre ice in Rogers Place. Canada earned gold after dispatching of rival Sweden, 6-2, despite falling behind 2-0 early in the game. See full story in the Monday, August 13 edition of The Record.
