The students of Ms. Norrie’s fourth grade class at Princess Elizabeth Elementary School met with Record reporter Gordon Lambie for more than an hour on Monday afternoon to ask questions and hear stories about what is involved in being a journalist for a community newspaper. The class, currently working on a project to create a newspaper of their own, came with prepared questions as well as ones improvised on the spot, all of which were aimed at getting a better understanding of who writes the news and who it is for, what makes it into the paper and why, where reporters need to go, when, and how they get there, and why news matters.
