This year again, citizens of the Richmond area can make a request to the Richmond Christmas basket committee for access to a Christmas basket which includes, among other things, a food voucher transferable to Maxi Richmond. Application forms are available from November 1 to November 30, 2023 at the following locations: the Richmond post office, the Richmond Town Hall, and Les Tabliers en Folie, located at 421 Principale North, Richmond. Completed forms must be returned to Richmond Town Hall.
As usual, individuals can make monetary donations at the post office, the Familiprix pharmacy, Toyota Richmond, the Wales Home, Exo-S and the Esso gas station. Donations by cheque—made out to the Richmond Christmas Basket Committee—can be left at the Richmond Town Hall.
The Richmond Area Christmas Basket Committee works hard to raise funds to help alleviate hunger during the holiday season, but also throughout the year. Financial assistance is given to local schools to provide free breakfasts and snacks. The committee also collaborates with the Familiprix pharmacy and Tabliers en Folie to help with foodstuffs and other aid in emergency situations.
