Now that warmer weather has finally arrived, Sherbrookers shouldn’t be surprised that the summer road construction season came out of the gate running Monday morning. Traffic on King St. West will be hampered until about May 11 with only two of its four lanes – one in each direction – accessible to motorists as they approach Rue du Bocage. Only one lane in each direction will be open at Promenades King due to water and sewer connections. Slowdowns are to be expected and motorists are encouraged to use Portland Blvd during the work. In addition, reconstruction work on Delorme St. will close the bike path for about 10 days and cyclists will have to take a detour via Galt West.
