The Fondation Athlete Excellence de Quebec (FAEQ) held its annual gala virtually on Tuesday night on RDS television and Facebook Live. In all over $461,000 were handed out to 90 student-athletes across Quebec. Headlining the recipients was Bishop’s Gaiters Women’s Basketball player Amaiquen Siciliano (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Velez Sarsfield) who was named Female Athlete of the Year in a Team Sport.
Jael Kabunda (Montreal, Que./College Montmorency), also of the women’s basketball team, was a finalist in the same category as Siciliano while men’s rugby player Josh Norby (Beaconsfield, Que./John Abbott College) earned a recruitment bursary.
