Élodie Tessier lives in the small municipality of St-Germain de Grantham, just outside Drummondville, but she hasn’t been there for several months, as she continues to prepare for her first Paralympic Games.
Tessier has been hunkered down in Toronto since May, training alongside her wheelchair basketball teammates. They are flying out to Japan on Friday to represent Canada on the international stage. It’s a dream come true for Tessier.
“It’s my first [Paralympic Games] and I’m really excited about it. I can’t wait to see what we’re going to do and honestly, day-by-day, step-by-step, I think we can reach the podium,” she said.
