The Desjardins-Windsor Wild organization would like to provide an update on one of its players who suffered a significant injury during Friday night’s opening game.
A few minutes into the first home game of the regular season, team captain Richard Camiré left the game and was sent to the hospital. He later took the time to explain what happened.
“I slipped with my foot under my buttocks and when we slid into the corner, my foot turned upside down,” said the team captain.
I have a fractured fibula,” he said. I’m still fine this morning,” he said on Saturday morning. “I want to thank the organization, the City of Windsor employees and everyone who helped me from the moment I left the ice until the paramedics arrived.”
